After driving for fifteen minutes (16 kilometers) from Kumily, you reach the scenic small village of Chellarkovil. Located at Anakkara Panchayat in the Kerala Tamil Nadu border, the place is a chaos of two cultures. Chellarkovil is visited by tourists from all over the world for its scenic view with thick green forests, unique landscape a cascade of waterfall that originates in Kerala and ends at Tamil Nadu. The village is located at a distance of 13 kilometers and 30 minutes’ drive from Hills and Hues hotel in 2 nd mile and Thekkady town. Chellarkovil is an easily accessible yet must visit spot while travelling through Idukki. Best time to visit Chellarkovil

It would be blissful to visit Chellarkovil during the rainy season (June to September) when the Arivikuzhi waterfall splashes in its complete grandeur. Yet the most recommended time to visit Chellarkovil is from September to May when the rain has receded and you get to experience the tingling effect of the sun with the cool breeze. An extremely misty climate may affect the drive and scenery from the viewpoint.

How to reach Chellarkovil
You can take a bus from Kumily to reach Chellarkovil. The nearest Railway station is Theni railway station which is 60 kms away and nearest airport is Madhurai (140kms), from where you can take a cab for the rest of the journey. If you are coming by road, you can drive, take a cab or use public transport from Kochi (140 kilometers)
